7 Ways To Eat Healthier Without Overwhelming You With A Bunch Of Rules

Having a hard time knowing how to improve your diet?  Eating healthy is one of those things you know you should do, but probably don’t know exactly how to do. Between all the fads, trends and gimmicky routines, it can be hard to make sense of it all. Here are 7 ways to eat healthier and get your weight loss journey started without overwhelming you with a bunch of rules.

1. Have Healthy Snacks Available

When hunger pangs hit, our brains instantly crave simple carbs. In order to avoid the candy machine, carry berries, nuts or chopped veggies in your bag to hold you over until the next meal.

2. Spice it up with Herbs

Dressings and sauces can add tons of calories and fat to an otherwise healthy dish. Use herbs to get a punch of flavor without spending your entire caloric budget.

Using herbs to get a punch of flavor is one of the great ways to eat healthier.

3. Stock Your Freezer

Life happens and you won’t always have time to cook. Keep some healthy frozen foods on hand to avoid a late night visit from the pizza delivery guy that you’ll regret.

4. Entice Yourself

We eat with all our senses and pretty food is always more satisfying that beige chicken. Pretend you’re a food stylist and make every meal a beautiful piece of art.

Making every meal a beautiful piece of art is one of many ways to eat healltier.

5. Build Your Arsenal

There’s nothing like getting a new “kitchen toy” to motivate you to cook more healthy meals. Buy quality kitchen tools to make your meal prep a ton more fun.

6. Screw Perfection!

Despite what your mother said, you’re not perfect and never will be. Aim for B+ instead of the A. Why? It’s attainable and healthy living doesn’t require perfection.

7. Stay Hydrated

Stay Hydrated – It can be very easy to get dehydrated. Most adults should drink between eight and ten 8-ounce glasses of water each day to stay hydrated. If you exercise strenuously you’ll need more. Tea, coffee, soda, and sugary drinks (even fake sugar) are all dehydrating and don’t do the same thing as clean, filtered water will. So drink up!
